Milton, Ont.-based TOS America has been providing Fermat vertical and horizontal boring mills since the late 2000s and now has been purchased by Fermat following the retirement of TOS America's long-time owner. 

TOS America, based in Milton, Ont., had been the exclusive Canadian importer (excluding Quebec) of Fermat vertical and horizontal boring mills since the early 2000s.

Its long-term partnership with Fermat has enabled TOS America to provide the best possible product, service and support, says Lee Walker, the former owner of TOS America, and the purchase of the company by Fermat will build on that foundation.

Walker has announced his retirement after 56 years in the machine tool industry but will continue as liaison during the transition. Walker says that the successes TOS America enjoyed since its founding in 1997 are the foundation Fermat will build upon.

The Fermat Goup, located in the Czech Republic, was founded in the 1980s. It includes Lucas Precision in Cleveland, OH. The TOS America acquisition is part of the company’s plan to build and grow Fermat products worldwide.
